ABOUT

Meet the Founder

I created the community I wish existed to support and nurture our HR talent.

A place where women in HR don’t need to perform, prove themselves, or pretend they have it all together. A place where you can be real, feel supported, think clearly, and move forward.

Come and join our community!

I’ve spent more than 20 years in HR — often in the deep end.

Building HR functions from scratch. Navigating mergers, restructures, and change. Leading teams. Handling complex people matters. Making high-stakes decisions while looking calm on the outside and mentally running seventeen scenarios on the inside.

A lot of my career has been in traditional, male-led environments — and truthfully, I’ve loved it. The pace. The pressure. The challenge. The ambition. Give me complexity and a whiteboard and I’m happy.

But for a long time, I didn’t realise there was another way to work and lead.

Then I started spending more time in female-led spaces and saw something powerful: high standards with warmth. Strong women who were strategic and human. Smart rooms where you didn’t need armour to belong.

I saw what happens when women feel safe enough to be honest.

The breakthroughs. The laughter. The tears. The “thank goodness someone else feels that too” moments. The kind of conversations that change how you think, lead, and live.

I’ve personally learned the most from women like that — the ones generous enough to share their wisdom, perspective, and truth. The women who make you feel smarter, braver, and less alone just by being in the room.

And I realised… not everyone has that.

Traditional networking events can feel stiff, transactional, and a little awkward (at least for me). You wear the nice outfit, make polite conversation, collect a few LinkedIn connections… and leave wondering what just happened.

Useful? Sometimes. Transformational? Rarely.

And no matter how capable or senior you become, there are still moments where you think:

Can I just run this past someone?

Because the mental load is real.

The work. The people problems. The pressure. The kids. The life admin. The endless tabs open in your brain.

Sometimes one good conversation can make everything feel lighter.

That’s why I created The HR Roundtable!

A space where women in HR can be brilliant and real. Where we stay current, learn from each other, share lived experience, and support one another without ego or competition.

No pitching. No pretending. No nonsense.

Just smart women, honest conversations, practical support, and a clear way forward.

If you’re wondering what I’m like personally — I’m big-picture, practical, and not overly interested in the status quo. I like colouring outside the lines, solving messy problems, and finding a smarter way through.

I’m warm, direct, a little quirky, and I laugh often.

I care deeply about creating rooms where women feel seen, sharpened, challenged, and genuinely glad they came.

If you’ve been looking for your people in HR, I’d love to welcome you to the table.

FAQ

Questions people ask

  • The HR Roundtable is a confidential, vendor-free HR community for women in HR in Australia. Think monthly HR roundtables, Braintrust collective problem-solving, guest expert sessions, and real peer support you can actually use at work.

  • Women working in HR and People & Culture roles (HR, ER, OD, Talent, L&D) who want a trusted peer network. It’s vendor-free and non-solicitation — so recruiters, vendors, sales-led roles, and anyone joining to promote services aren’t eligible.

    • Braintrust session: bring a real issue and get collective brainstorming (including small breakouts) so you leave with clear, actionable next steps.

    • Guest expert session: specialist HR speakers sharing real-world examples and what’s current across industries — with time to turn insights into practical takeaways.

    • Coffee Corner: optional, no-prep drop-in connection to chat through what’s happening that week and build relationships. Sometimes the most strategic thing we do is talk it out over a coffee.

    • Member spotlight: members share learnings from real projects or transformations so we can all borrow what works.

All sessions include a thinking prompt and a “way forward” so it’s not just talk — it’s momentum.

  • You’ll get a monthly 60-minute HR Roundtable, plus 60-minute Coffee Corner sessions (monthly or twice monthly). Guest expert HR sessions and occasional pop-up connection events run throughout the year.

  • Guest expert sessions are recorded in the member portal; Roundtable discussions (Braintrust + member spotlights) aren’t recorded to protect confidentiality.

  • You’ll still be supported. Guest expert sessions are recorded and saved in the Member Portal. Roundtable discussions (Braintrust + member spotlights) aren’t recorded so members can speak openly — but you can always bring the topic to the next session or the chat for peer support. You can also always reach out to the group 24/7 in the member only chat space.

  • Not exactly — it’s a community-led professional development and connection space (with practical support and expert learning built in).
